A devastating assault on a Malian military camp in San, central Mali, resulted in the deaths of at least ten soldiers on Sunday, according to local security sources. The attack, claimed by the jihadist group JNIM, left the camp temporarily under the control of the assailants before Malian forces reclaimed the site.
Security sources reported a provisional death toll of “approximately ten soldiers killed,” while local sources confirmed fatalities among military personnel without specifying exact numbers. “There were friendly losses, but our assessments are ongoing,” a local source stated. “Our troops have regained control of the camp.”
