Mason greenwood transfer: fenerbahçe ready to submit new bid for olympique de marseille star

With no Champions League football on the horizon next season, Olympique de Marseille must accept losing key players, including Mason Greenwood. While AS Roma have shown interest in the English forward, Fenerbahçe are determined to take the lead in this transfer saga. A fresh offer could arrive in the coming days.

Greenwood’s exit from OM now a matter of when, not if

The question is no longer whether Mason Greenwood will leave OM during the summer transfer window, but when. The English attacker holds the highest market value in the squad and must be sold to help the Marseille club balance its books. AS Roma, Atlético Madrid, Fenerbahçe, and Al-Hilal are among the possible destinations. However, OM do not intend to undersell Greenwood, especially since Manchester United are entitled to 40% of the transfer fee.

Fenerbahçe set to raise their offer

According to reports, Fenerbahçe have already tabled a €35 million bid for OM, which was rejected. That has not discouraged the Turkish side, who could launch a new proposal before the end of the month. OM are pushing for a swift resolution, as the DNCG has requested additional documents from the club before making its decision. Meanwhile, AS Roma have not given up hope.

What fee will Greenwood command?

The big question now is how much OM will ultimately receive, with time running short. A few days ago, journalist Karim Bennati weighed in on the figures being discussed. “Six months ago, when Greenwood was unstoppable, we were talking about much higher amounts. Now, with Marseille’s end to the season and his own dip in form… is €50 million realistic for OM? Honestly, when you look at prices across Europe today, a player who can score 20 goals a season in Ligue 1 is a bargain,” he said. “If I were OM, I’d wait a bit—they already have a clause that bumps the price to €60 million on July 1—to try to find a buyer.”
