Ousmane sonko unveils strategic blueprint for pastef’s national congress

In a significant political gathering, Premier Ministre Ousmane Sonko transformed his residence in Cité Keur Gorgui into a bustling political headquarters this past Friday, May 15, 2026. With less than three weeks remaining until PASTEF’s inaugural national congress, scheduled for June 6, 2026, the leader of the Patriots convened a critical strategic session with his inner circle. Key figures from both the government and the party were in attendance, including El Malick Ndiaye, Birame Souleye Diop, Yassine Fall, Daouda Ngom, and Ayib Daffé.


The clear objective of this closed-door conclave was to initiate a comprehensive mobilization effort and to solidify the party’s political structure around its core leadership, anticipating a pivotal moment for the movement.

To underscore this renewed phase of grassroots engagement, Ousmane Sonko issued a powerful directive to his lieutenants, encapsulated in a meaningful Wolof expression: « Yokk thiéré doli gnekh » (increase the quantity and add more sauce). This call signifies a massive intensification of the movement’s dynamic. The mandate now is to actively engage with every locality across Sénégal, extending even to the most remote regions, to reinvigorate the militant base. Following the meeting, El Malick Ndiaye exuded confidence, expressing on social media his anticipation of « de belles perspectives sous le signe de la souveraineté », signaling PASTEF’s readiness to stage an unprecedented display of political strength since its ascent to power.
