Sawti: empowering moroccan citizens with accessible political information

Sawti

The innovative digital platform, Sawti, found at www.sawti.info, is redefining how political information is shared in Morocco. Its primary goal is to ensure that all citizens, whether residing within Morocco or abroad, have clear, accessible, and understandable insights into the nation’s political landscape.

Driven by a non-profit ethos, Sawti was conceived by two visionary Moroccan entrepreneurs, Ismaïl Lahlou and Yassine Lahlou Kamal. Their ambition is to bolster access to credible political news and foster broader citizen engagement across Morocco.

Designed to resonate with a diverse audience, the platform stands out for its remarkable linguistic accessibility. Sawti currently offers content in nine languages, including Darija, Arabic, French, English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and German, with plans to incorporate Tamazight in the near future. Its intuitive interface has been meticulously crafted to ensure effortless navigation for every user, enhancing access to vital political information.

Recognizing the intricate nature of political discourse, Sawti provides educational resources specifically designed to demystify institutional operations, electoral procedures, and the overarching national political dynamics, making complex topics digestible for all.

Among its core features, the platform empowers users to quickly verify their electoral roll registration or complete online voter enrollment within minutes. With the registration deadline approaching on June 13, Sawti ensures a swift process, allowing citizens to confirm their status and register promptly.

Sawti also provides dedicated information for Moroccans residing abroad, detailing how they can participate in elections from their respective locations. Looking ahead, the platform will introduce an interactive quiz, enabling users to explore their political leanings based on their values and perspectives on key societal issues.

Available online at www.sawti.info, Sawti represents a significant stride towards modernizing access to information and strengthening citizen participation within Morocco’s vibrant political landscape.
