The political landscape in Chad grows increasingly tense as the opposition movement Les Patriotes raises fresh concerns about the nation’s climate. During a press briefing held in N’Djamena this week, the party—part of the former Groupe de concertation des acteurs politiques (GCAP)—highlighted what it terms a hardening of government policies, coinciding with judicial actions against multiple political figures.
In addition to political repression, the group underscored a worsening security situation and deepening communal divisions across the country. The warnings come at a critical juncture, as tensions between state authorities and opposition forces continue to escalate.
