The President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, delivered a stark warning on social media, vowing to intensify the fight against Boko Haram with unwavering resolve. In a Facebook post, he declared: “We will continue this struggle with renewed determination until this menace is completely eradicated.” His statement followed a brazen assault by the Islamist militant faction on a Chadian military base in Barka Tolorom, situated along the Lake Chad shoreline, which claimed the lives of 24 soldiers.
