The Collective of Descendants of Serigne Touba has filed a formal complaint against opposition leader Ousmane Sonko, citing allegations of defamation and dissemination of false information. Legal representation is being handled by Me Aboubacry Barro, as confirmed by Babacar Malick via a social media platform.
The legal action responds directly to recent public statements attributed to Sonko, in which he asserted that “funds have recently been channeled into Touba, drawn from national coffers and involving stolen money.”
Sonko went further, claiming that this financial influx—though allegedly diverted from public resources—was not intended for political campaigning but rather to meet “political demands.”
