Over 1,500 invited guests, including prominent figures from both nations, gathered to honor the deepening ties between the two countries.

The evening was graced by the presence of Philippe Lalliot, France’s ambassador to Morocco, and his wife, Laurence Folliot Lalliot. Their arrival marked the beginning of a reception that underscored the evolving nature of Franco-Moroccan relations.

Building a modern and balanced partnership

In his speech, Ambassador Lalliot emphasized the transformative potential of the renewed partnership between France and Morocco. He described it as “a balanced alliance aligned with our mutual interests, modernized to meet today’s challenges and prepared for future opportunities.”*

The ambassador also paid tribute to the enduring human connection that binds the two nations. “This friendship is our shared heritage,”* he declared. “It is our collective responsibility to nurture it, strengthen it, and ensure its continued growth.”*

Reflecting on his diplomatic mission in Morocco, Lalliot highlighted the country’s proactive approach to shaping its future. “From Rabat to Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, and Laâyoune—where I recently inaugurated the first Alliance Française branch—Morocco doesn’t just envision the future; it builds it every single day,”* he noted.

The event drew notable attendees, including Mohamed Saad Berrada, Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, who represented the government. The gathering also welcomed other Moroccan officials and foreign diplomats accredited in the Kingdom.

The evening’s festivities featured a stellar performance by the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by a lively set from DJ Retro Cassetta, blending traditional and contemporary sounds to create an atmosphere of celebration.
