On Saturday, 27 June 2026, the Mali branch of the Mohammed vi Foundation of African Ulema held the national preselection phase for the third edition of the prestigious Nabawi Acharif Hadith memorisation contest at its headquarters in Banankabougou. After a day of intense competition, three candidates were chosen to represent Mali at the grand international final, where winners from 49 countries will compete.
This contest follows the directives of the Higher Council of the Mohammed vi Foundation of African Ulema. The preselection phase brought together 50 participants from various madrasas and Holy Quran memorisation centres, coming from Bamako and other regions of the country.
Through this initiative, the foundation aims to encourage African youth to embrace prophetic teachings. The core objective is to promote the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and moderation that these sacred texts convey.
Candidates competed in three disciplines: Discipline 1 (40 Hadiths – Elementary level) was won by Ahmad Sow; Discipline 2 (30 Hadiths – Intermediate level) was won by Mouhamad Diallo; and Discipline 3 (30 Hadiths – Advanced level) was awarded to Boubacar Traoré.
