Mason Greenwood transfer: AS Roma confident to sign OM striker for 40 million euros

Olympique de Marseille is preparing to sell Mason Greenwood to balance the books, with the English striker attracting interest from several top clubs including Atlético de Madrid, AS Roma, and Fenerbahçe. The Marseille board has set a minimum price of 50 million euros, but Italian media now report that Roma believes it can secure the player for significantly less.

Roma believes it can make OM bend

Despite Marseille’s firm stance, AS Roma is increasingly confident it can land Greenwood for around 40 million euros plus bonuses. The French club is under financial pressure, as the DNCG (French football’s financial watchdog) has requested additional documents before delivering its verdict on Marseille’s accounts. This urgency has led Italian officials to believe that OM will eventually lower its demands.

What price will OM sell Greenwood for?

Will Olympique de Marseille really accept less than 50 million euros for Mason Greenwood, as Rome expects? Some analysts argue that Marseille’s current asking price is already reasonable. One journalist recently noted that a player who consistently scores around 20 goals per season in Ligue 1 is a bargain at that figure. The club even has a clause that would increase the fee to 60 million euros on July 1, so some suggest OM should wait a little longer to find a buyer willing to meet that higher price.
