As the World Cup 2026 eighth-final clash against co-hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium approaches, Marcus Rashford addressed his future, amid swirling rumors of a potential return to Manchester United.
Following an impressive loan spell at Barcelona, where he netted 14 goals and provided 14 assists in 49 appearances to help the Catalan side secure the La Liga title, Rashford was recalled by the Red Devils after the Spanish giants opted for Anthony Gordon instead. Now, the English forward is set to rejoin United after the tournament, barring any unexpected twists, with manager Michael Carrick reportedly eager to welcome him back into the fold.

In his pre-match remarks ahead of facing Mexico, Rashford made it clear that no decisions about his future would be made until the Three Lions have given their all at the World Cup this summer.
“I’ve been very clear… I wanted any transfer to be completed before the World Cup. If that wasn’t possible, I’d rather wait until after. I need to stay fully focused on the present,” he emphasized.
“We’re fighting for something special.”
Rashford remains under contract for two more years, earning an estimated £325,000 (€380,000) per week. Fans are eager to see him back at Old Trafford, especially as Manchester United prepares to return to the Champions League and targets league glory next season.
