Senegal leader highlights religious leaders’ role in national unity

During a courtesy visit to Touba, the President of Senegal’s National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, concluded a day of meaningful engagements by meeting with prominent religious leaders. The visits included Serigne Cheikh Say Mbacké, the Khalife of Serigne Souhaïbou Mbacké, Serigne Cheikh Mbacké, the Khalife of Serigne Abdoul Khadre Mbacké, and Serigne Fallou Mbacké Ibn Serigne Souhaïbou Mbacké.

At each stop, Sonko emphasized the critical influence of religious authorities in fostering peace, stability, and social cohesion across the nation. His remarks underscored their indispensable role in maintaining harmony within Senegalese society.

In response, the religious leaders offered prayers and blessings for Sonko, while also invoking divine favor for the nation’s continued peace, stability, and prosperity.
