Togo security: Faure Gnassingbé inspects Koundjoaré operation zone
The President of the Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Faure Gnassingbé, made a strategic visit to the Koundjoaré Operation zone in northern Togo on 7 May 2026. The mission aimed to assess the security situation and bolster the efforts of troops combating terrorist threats in the region.
During the visit, the Supreme Commander attended an operational briefing at the Command Post before heading to the forward operating base in Tchamonga—a key position within the security framework.
