The detention of political figure Ndiaga Seck has ignited a wave of debate across public discourse. Charged with alleged unnatural acts, he was formally indicted by a Louga-based investigative judge and subsequently imprisoned.
Amid this legal turmoil, social media users and certain online publications have controversially linked this case to Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. This narrative has been firmly rejected by Babacar Ba, Chair of the Forum des Justiciables.
In a strong statement, Babacar Ba condemned what he termed a deliberate attempt to smear the Prime Minister’s reputation. “As head of government, Ousmane Sonko represents the state institution. It is unacceptable to tarnish his image or undermine his credibility,” he declared.
Babacar Ba emphasized that the charges against Ndiaga Seck—however serious—should not be exploited to falsely associate him with Sonko for political motives. “Such tactics violate the core principles of a law-based state and have no place in our society,” he asserted.
