The Tchad Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Professional Training Hosts National Workshop to Validate Diagnostic Report on EFTP Transformation
The Tchad Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Professional Training organized a national workshop in N’Djamena on July 10, 2026, to validate the report of an analysis of the situation on the ground with the aim of developing a National Strategy for Digital Transformation of Vocational Education, Training and Professional Techniques (EFTP).
The event brought together key players in the sector to review, enrich, and validate a document that will serve as the basis for the future digitalization policy of EFTP in Tchad.
As part of the Pan-African Initiative for Digital Transformation of EFTP Systems, supported by UNESCO, OIF, UAC, African Development Bank, ECOWAS Commission, GIZ-SIFA Program, this initiative aims to modernize ‘sustainably’ vocational education and training in Tchad.
Previous studies have mobilized over 200 respondents from 57 Vocational Training Centers and Professional Schools (CFTP) as well as from the management structures across all academies of the country through field missions and digital collection covering the entire country.
The event was opened by the Under-Secretary of State for Higher Education, Dr. Djininboh Gabriel, Director General of Human Resources, Statistics and Digitalization, who emphasized that digital transformation has become a strategic issue to adapt training systems to technological mutations and new jobs.
He stated that the Government intends to use digital technology as a major driver in modernizing EFTP.
The report highlights significant progress but also important challenges related to governance, digital infrastructure, connectivity, energy supply, teacher training, and integrating digital skills into educational programs.
The participants were invited to enrich the document to arrive at a realistic, inclusive, and adapted strategy to national realities.
Following this workshop, the validated report will serve as the basis for developing a National Digital Transformation Strategy for EFTP and an operational action plan for the period 2026-2030, with the aim of equipping Tchad with a modern vocational education system that is performing and in line with market employment requirements.
