In the Anguissa neighbourhood of Yaoundé’s fourth district, a ten-year-old girl was stabbed to death during the night of Saturday, 27 June to Sunday, 28 June 2026.
Shock and grief gripped the Anguissa district on Sunday, 28 June. The young victim, Sylvana, was brutally stabbed multiple times by a 22-year-old woman. The suspect has stated that she acted under the influence of the Holy Spirit. The attack occurred overnight Saturday to Sunday while the girl’s parents were absent.
Sylvana died from the knife wounds inflicted by her attacker. The alleged perpetrator was apprehended on 28 June 2026 while at a place of worship. She is currently in police custody as investigations continue to shed full light on this tragedy.
