On Sunday, July 26, 2026, Senate President Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, serving as the moral authority of the political coalition Agissons et Bâtissons (AB), convened a high-level gathering at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Bandal. The meeting brought together members of the Presidium, national deputies, senators, party secretaries-general, and executive secretaries from the coalition.

The discussions, which followed a long-awaited internal consultation, coincided with the close of an extraordinary parliamentary session and the start of legislative recess. Two key topics dominated the agenda: an assessment of the coalition’s progress and a deep dive into pressing national issues, particularly the referendum bill and ongoing dialogue efforts.

After thorough deliberations, the AB coalition reached a consensus on two critical resolutions. First, it underscored the urgent need for cohesion within the coalition, bridging the gap between elected officials and the Presidium, as well as between legislators and government representatives. Second, it formally endorsed President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi’s determination to advance the referendum law and foster meaningful national dialogue.
