Young people in Lake Chad region rally behind security forces against Boko Haram

On Sunday afternoon, May 24, 2026, young people from the Lake Chad region, through the Youth Associations Coordination of the Lake (CADELAC), demonstrated their solidarity with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) actively combating Boko Haram in Baga-Sola.

In a public ceremony attended by local officials, Mahamat Adam Moustapha, coordinator of CADELAC, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of victims killed in the recent Barka Tollorom attacks. He then praised the exceptional sacrifices made by the FDS to safeguard peace in the region, emphasizing that their efforts reflect a shared commitment to protecting Lake Chad communities.

The youth leader reaffirmed the determination of local young people to remain vigilant and actively engaged in community mobilization against terrorism. In a modest yet meaningful display of support, CADELAC presented five 50 kg bags of rice and ten cartons of pasta to the FDS. Speaking to the gathering, the coordinator highlighted that this donation symbolizes the resilience and unity of the youth, who stand firmly behind the security forces defending the Lake Chad province.
