In his address, King Mohamed VI delivered a comprehensive assessment of Morocco’s current trajectory, emphasizing three critical pillars: the nation’s unwavering stability and security, which foster public confidence; robust economic growth driven by industrialization and technological advancement—resulting in 80% self-sufficiency in food, pharmaceutical, and automotive sectors; and green energy development, particularly green hydrogen. The monarch also addressed persistent inequality challenges, stressing the need to translate macroeconomic health into tangible improvements for all regions.

The King highlighted ongoing human development initiatives and the expansion of social protection programs, stating: « alongside economic momentum, we continue to implement numerous human development initiatives and expand social protection to uplift living standards and achieve social and spatial justice. »

He called for mobilizing domestic savings to consolidate recent gains and advance major national projects following the upcoming parliamentary elections on September 23, 2026.

During the Throne Day celebrations, His Majesty granted clemency to 1,788 individuals, including both detainees and those in freedom, as confirmed by the Ministry of Justice.

« All praise is due to God, prayers and peace be upon the Prophet, his family, and companions.

Dear people,

With immense pride and deep satisfaction, we celebrate today the twenty-seventh anniversary of Our accession to the throne. For 27 years, divine will has entrusted Me with the honor of guiding your destiny. The mission is noble, and the responsibility is immense.

In resonance with the Almighty’s words: ‘If you are grateful, I will certainly grant you more favors,’ We thank Him for guiding Us to success in fulfilling your aspirations and addressing your concerns.

Never has personal glory or the pursuit of a ‘continental or international leadership’ title been My goal. Instead, My sole concern has always been to serve you to the best of My ability, ensuring all Moroccans live with dignity as free citizens.

Today, reviewing our collective achievements fills Me with honor and pride in the significance of our gains, while instilling full optimism about the future.

Rather than personal satisfaction, this assessment fosters a gratifying sense of confidence and serenity, empowering Us to move forward with renewed vigor.

Our progress is no coincidence—it stems from a clear strategic vision and a governance doctrine rooted in initiative-taking, rigorous follow-up, constructive self-criticism, and a resolute commitment to shaping the future with determination and positivity.

Our country stands at a pivotal juncture in its development journey, where an ideal of trust and optimism must prevail over rhetoric that fuels despair or frustration.

What fills Us with the greatest pride is the security and stability prevailing in Morocco, coupled with the effective functioning of public institutions.

Indeed, in a region and world plagued by turmoil and tensions, political and institutional stability is a rare and invaluable asset. Today, stability is the key variable in Morocco’s development equation—and the strategic capital that defines our national pride.

As a nation with a millennia-old history, Morocco draws strength from its ancestral traditions of a nation-state where institutions operate in harmony and complementarity. This enables us to achieve the required efficiency in our endeavors, successfully overcoming challenges despite obstacles and constraints.

In this regard, Morocco has demonstrated its effectiveness by flawlessly organizing continental and international events, earning global admiration and respect—though inevitably provoking envy in some quarters.

Furthermore, Morocco has shown remarkable resilience in crises and disasters, as evidenced by its proactive management of the recent floods in Gharb and northern regions.

Underpinned by this stability and institutional efficiency, positive indicators are multiplying across all sectors, reinforcing economic momentum and safeguarding national sovereignty.

In 2025, GDP growth reached approximately 4.9%, with projections for 2026 indicating a similar or higher rate. Agriculture has benefited from abundant rainfall and a strong harvest season, enhancing water and food security.

Sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, renewable energy, and agri-food industries now form the backbone of our productive fabric, attracting investments and generating wealth and employment. Morocco has become Africa’s top automotive exporter, with an annual production capacity of nearly one million vehicles. The automotive and aeronautics sectors now account for over 40% of total exports, surpassing phosphates.

To further this momentum, We presided over the launch of new industrial units earlier this year, positioning Morocco among the elite group of countries with leading hubs for aircraft engine and landing system manufacturing.

Renewable energy projects are also advancing to solidify energy security and attract industries seeking competitive, decarbonized power. The operational rollout of the ‘Morocco Green Hydrogen Offer’ has begun, with permits granted to a first wave of megaprojects.

Dear people,

In an international climate marked by rising protectionism and the imperative to secure supply chains, We have prioritized strengthening national sovereignty and strategic self-sufficiency in industrial development. This is vividly illustrated in agri-food and pharmaceutical industries, which now meet nearly 80% of national needs.

Additionally, establishing an industrial and technological base for defense and cybersecurity will gradually bolster defense sovereignty while creating development opportunities, reinforcing our status as a regional power in these fields.

Simultaneously, We continue advancing human development initiatives and expanding social protection programs, aiming to improve living conditions and achieve social and spatial justice. This requires efficient implementation of integrated territorial development programs that encompass all regions without exception.

The economic and social transformation underway demands unprecedented financial mobilization, primarily through domestic funding. We therefore urge the national financial sector to support investment and major projects while expanding access to financing for SMEs, innovation, industrialization, and exports.

We also call for greater openness and innovation in the financial sector to optimize the mobilization of national savings—especially institutional savings—and revitalize capital markets. This will accelerate Morocco’s emergence as a dynamic, forward-looking nation.

With divine grace, Morocco has solidified its position as a credible, respected, and influential international actor. The Kingdom stands today as a leading economic partner sought for balanced, future-oriented collaborations.

Leveraging this status, Morocco can confidently engage its partners, proposing constructive initiatives on bilateral and global issues. By diversifying its partnerships, the country enhances its capabilities and amplifies its impact across all domains.

These economic and social gains transcend government and parliamentary mandates. They are the result of a virtuous, cumulative dynamic spanning years, shaped by strategic orientations and sound major choices.
